MERITS OF PRAYING AT THE STIPULATED TIME

He remembered his grandmother's warning about praying on time: 'My son, you shouldn't leave prayer to this late time'. His grandmother's age was 70 but, whenever she heard the Adhan, she got up like an arrow and performed Salah. He, however could never win over his ego to get up and pray. Whatever he did, his Salah was always the last to be offered and he prayed it quickly to get it in on time. Thinking of this, he got up and realized that there were only 15 minutes left before Salat-ul Isha. He quickly made Wudhu and performed Salat-ul Maghrib. While making Tasbih, he again remembered his grandmother and was embarrassed by how he had prayed. His grandmother prayed with such tranquillity and peace. He began making Dua and went down to make Sajdah and stayed like that for a while. He had been at work all day and was tired, very tired. He awoke abruptly to the sound of noise and shouting. He was sweating profusely. He looked around. It was very crowded. Every directio

THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD'S (SAW) LAST SERMON AT MOUNT ARAFAT

"Whoever hides the knowledge given to him by Allah (swt), on the day of Qiyamah Allah (swt) would bridle their mouths with fire" Hadith - Al Mujamul Kabeer   THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD'S (SAW) LAST SERMON   This sermon was delivered on the Ninth day of Dhul Hijjah 10A.H in the "Uranah valley of Mount Arafat ."   After praising, and thanking Allah he said:   "O People,   lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again.   Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.   O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Scared, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust.   Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owner.   Hurt no one   so that no one may hurt you.   Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds.   ALLAH has forbi

The signs of true Repentance

Image
The signs of true Repentance   The great ascetic Shaqîq Al-Balakhî – Allâh have mercy on him – was once asked, "What is the mark of [true] repentance?" He replied, "Continued crying over past sins, deep fear of falling into them again, staying away from bad company, and keeping the company of good people." Abû Bakr Al-Daynûrî, Al-Mujâlasah WA Jawâhir Al-'Ilm article 2645.

My sins block my dua'

My sins block my dua'      A s I sit here alone, the tears rolling down my face It is not salt, but pain that I taste So I leave now to go stand before You I am helpless and alone, what else can I do? I have asked, I have begged but my sins block my du'a I will come now still begging, forgive me O Allah Forgive me and grant me what it is that I ask For me it is impossible but for You a simple task I try and I try but I do not succeed But I understand and know it is because Your Words I do not heed I hear, yes I hear but I do not always obey Perhaps that is why I am destitute, isolated and why You have written that I will be alone this way I have no to blame but the person in the mirror I see No one else must pay for my sins, no one else, no one else, no one else but me So I stand before You to again beg forgiveness because You said that I can You have told us in Your Book that You are Ar-Rahman I will ask, I will beg but my sins my block my du

Three Levels of Taqwa

Image
Excerpts taken from Imam Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah [rahimahullah]'s blessed book al-Fawaa'id.(1) Taqwa has three levels: 1. Protecting your heart and limbs against sin and forbidden actions 2. Protecting them against undesirable matters 3. Protecting against curiosity and whatever that does not concern you The first will grant life to you, The second will grant you health and power, And the third will grant you happiness and joy. Ref. Ten Days of Righteous Deeds

Ten Days of Righteous Deeds Even for those not performing the pilgrimage, Hajj , the first ten days of this month are considered very sacred and a time for increased reflection, seeking Allah's forgiveness, doing good and various other forms of worship. Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) has said about the first ten days of Dhul Hijja: " There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days . " The people asked, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing (Bukhari). While any good deed done for the sake of Allah according to the way He approves will be rewarded immensely during the first ten days, Insha Allah, some of the more specific actions mentioned in the Traditions

Thirty Good Deeds Passing Us By

Bismillah Hir Rahmaan Nir Raheem Assalaamu alaykum WA rahmatuallahi WA barakatuhu   Thirty Good Deeds Passing Us  http://iskandrani.wordpress.com/2008/06/30/thirty-good-deeds-passing-us-by/ From 'Sahih al-Adab al-Mufrad' (757): Abu Hurayrah reported that a man passed by the Messenger of Allah while he was in a gathering, and he said: "as-Salamu 'alaykum." So, he said: "Ten good deeds." Another man passed by and said: "as-Salamu 'alaykum WA Rahmatullah ." So, he said: "Twenty good deeds." Another man passed by and said: " as-Salamu 'alaykum WA Rahmatullah WA Barakatuh ." So, he said: "Thirty good deeds." So, let us try to obtain the thirty good deeds by making the complete greeting instead of the basic one. Imagine how many hasanat pass us by every time we greet each other, as just two or three extra words will gain us an extra twenty good deeds each time we say them! And from 'as-Silsilah

Warning Against Disobeying the Husband     Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, Something beneficial for us all inshaallaah. It is narrated from Jabir radiallaahu anhu : that the Messenger of Allâh (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said: " There are three people whom Allâah will not accept from them their prayers and their good deeds will not be lifted up to the sky: the slave who ran away from his master until he returns back to him and places his hands on his masters hands, a woman whose husband is angry with her until he is pleased with her and the one who is intoxicated until he becomes sober."  Source : http://dtssbc.com/warning%20against%20disobeying%20the%20husband.pdf

Great Advice to Husbands!

Great Advice to Husbands! FOR MEN TO READ & PUT INTO PRACTICE AND SISTERS TO SHOW TO THEIR HUSBANDS Dress up for your wife, look clean and smell good. When was the last time us men went shopping for designer pyjamas? Just like the husband wants his wife to look nice for him, she also wants her husband to dress up for her too. Remember that Rasulullah -salallahu alayhi wa sallam - would always start with Miswak when returning home and always loved the sweetest smells. 2. Use the cutest names for your wife. Rasul Allah-sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam - had nicknames for his wives, ones that they loved. Call your wife by the most beloved names to her, and avoid using names that hurt their feelings. 3. Don't treat her like a fly. We never think about a fly in our daily lives until it 'bugs' us. Similarly, a wife will do well all day - w hich brings no attention from the husband until she does something to 'bug' him. Don't treat he

Humor in Hadith

Prophet Muhammad (sas) said: "Even a smile is charity." As Islam is based on human nature, it also fully takes into account that nature, in its entire dimension. As a reflection of many different types of extremities among us as Muslims, some have divorced Islam in search of their jest and fun. Others, due to their "love" for Islam, have purified Islam and their life from any humorous dimension: So, no fun or humor. The latter group is petrified by a reminder from the Prophet Muhammad , "O followers of Muhammad! By Allah, if you knew what I know, you would weep much and laugh little." Reminder

Reminder Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah Reference: Fawaa`id ul Fawaa`id of Ibn ul Qayim - Page 384 There are ten things you will never find benefit in: The First: Knowledge which is void of action. The Second: Actions which are void of sincerity to Allah, and void of exemplification of the Sunnah. (Note: These two conditions constitute the act being accepted by Allah i.e. Ikhlaas and Ittiba`a) The Third: Wealth which is not spent in the way of Allah, so the one who exhausted all of his energy amassing it will not benefit from it in this life, nor will he see the fruits of it in the hereafter. The Fourth: A heart which is void of the love of Allah and the ardent desire to meet him. The Fifth: A body which is void of obedience to Allah. The Sixth: A love for other than Allah which is void of any boundaries. (i.e. unconditional) The Seventh: Time which is void of benefit and the individual does not take advantage of it to do actions which would bring him closer to Allah. The Eigh

A VERY GOOD STORY OF A CONVERTER TO ISLAM

> Are Young People Bored With Religion? A Greek Man Discovers Islam By Khalid Paschalis I was born in Greece, a country known for being one of the most 'homogenous' Christian countries. Almost 99% of Greek people are Orthodox Christians. My parents were both teachers of the Christian religion in schools, so I grew up in a Christian environment. When I was very young (before 12 years old) my mother always insisted to take me with her to the church every Sunday. My father didn't go there. When I reached puberty I didn't want to go to church. I didn't feel anything special there and I preferred sleeping or watching TV in Sunday mornings. In the subject of the religion education in school I was very bored and didn't pay attention to it. Most students didn't as well. Then I became 16 years old. It was the first time we were taught about the other religions at school. I discovered Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam of course. I noticed that the teacher was n

Men and women talking in chat rooms

Men and women talking in chat rooms I am a sister, who usually logs in to Paltalk and then goes to the Islamic rooms so that I may gain some knowledge related to our religion. Sometimes while I am in one of those Islamic rooms in Paltalk, a muslim brother (looking for a wife) in the room asks me to have a private written chat with him so that we get to know one another. Some of the questions he asks me are: where i live, my age, whether i am married(by the way I am not married), if I am planning to get marry, whether I live with my parents, and so on. My problem is, I don't know whether I am allowed (Islaamically) to give non-muharim brother those kinds of informations which related to me. Is it really SIN to talk to a brother in writing ??. Praise be to Allaah. There is nothing wrong with a Muslim woman making use of the internet and entering the Paltalk website for that purpose, so long as that does not lead to anything that is forbidden in Islam, such as talking privately with m

TELL YOURSELF (if you are sister), YOUR SISTERS; MOTHERS; WIVES to FILL THEIR TIME OF PREGNANCY WITH QUR'AN ALONE; NO MUSIC WHATSOEVER! indeed we do not want to destroy our babies even before they see the face of this world by music; how sad it is to hear from our muslim sisters that "so cute, babies likes music". la hawla wala kuata illa billa. it should "How Terrible! So dangerous Subhan Allah". 3 Types Of Music You Must Avoid If You Are Pregnant [title should have been, ALL TYPES OF MUSIC MUST BE BANNED during pregnancy, before it, after it, for eternity.] By Keith Whiting Studies show that fetuses can hear and react to sound from as early as 20 weeks and begin active listening by the 24th week. Researcher Michele Clements found that playing a lullaby, or calming music by Vivaldi and Mozart soothed 4 to 5 month-old fetuses but loud and discordant music disturbed and upset them. Th

The Importance Of Marrying A Righteous Spouse

The Importance Of Marrying A Righteous Spouse By Shaykhah Umm 'Abdillaah al-Waadi'iyyah (daughter of Shaykh Muqbil) Taken from Naseehatee lin Nisa Imam al-Bukhaaree (rahimullah) stated (9/132): It has been relayed to us by Musaddid that Yahya relayed to us, on 'Ubaydallaah that he said: Sa'eed bin Abee Sa'eed relayed to me, on his father, on the authority of Aboo Hurayrah (radiyallaahu anhu) on the Prophet, (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) that he said: "A woman is married for four (reasons): For her wealth, for her lineage, and for her beauty, so choose the one who possesses the Deen (religion) and you will be successful." [And related by Muslim (2/1086)] The meaning of the Hadeeth: The people choose wives for various reasons, and they are of four types: 1 – From them are those who strive for the rich and wealthy. 2 – From them are those who strive for good lineage and it is nobility. 3 – From them are those who strive for beauty. 4 – And from them are thos

Those Endowed With True Knowledge

Image
Al-Qasas (The Narration) Chapter 28: Verse 80 Those Endowed With True Knowledge said: "Woe to you. Allah's reward is best for those who believe and act righteously. But none except those who are patient shall attain to this." Korah, a contemporary of Moses, peace be upon him, was an extremely wealthy man. Wealth in itself is neither good nor bad. It is simply a means to an end and can be beneficially used or abused. But, as we see in this surah, Korah decided that he had earned his wealth by sheer genius and personal hard work alone, and that he was therefore justified in doing with it as he pleased. When those whose desires and inclinations were for the world saw his adornments and splendour, they wished that they could have the same as he had been given. This verse is the response of the people of beneficial knowledge. "Allah's reward", in this verse, means that clean and bounteous provision which comes to a man both in this world and in the Next a
