When will I see you as a Haafidh? { A good eye opener for all of us .....}

When will I see you as a Haafidh? In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful Shaykh Yasir Salamah I recently heard an incredibly amazing account told by Shaykh Yasir Salamah, one of the leading Imams and recitors of Egypt. In his audio tape 'When will I see you as a Haafidh?' he speaks of the true account of Muhammad, a brother who after attending a workshop on memorising Qur'aan and utilising all the available mediums, went on to memorise the entire Qur'aan within just 50 days (i.e 2 months) Within 2 months?! Yes. Within 2 months. This is his account and he says: "I declared a state of Jihad upon my soul and put death before my eyes. I made an intention to memorise the Noble Qur'aan. So I abandoned telephone calls and unnecessary visits, and I changed all the negative thoughts associated with hifdh (memorisation) to positive and practical ones e.g. When a thought came to me saying 'I can't do it!' I'd say, 'I

Rewards

Once Prophet MUHAMMAD (SWS) said, "If the people knew the reward for the Dhuhur prayer in its early time, they would race for it. If they knew the reward for "Isha" and the " Fajr" prayers in congregation, they would join them even if they had to crawl. If they knew the reward for the first row, they would draw lots for it". (Sahih AL-Bukhari vol. 1: no.688) Please keep forwarding this Hadith to all...because The Prophet MUHAMMAD Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam ) said: "pass on knowledge from me, even if it is only one verse". Three important and beneficial things, Hazrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) says that "if a person recite: 1. "Ayatal Kursi" after every Fardh Namaz (Salaah) then there will be nothing between him and Heaven except Death" 2) There is a Hadith that says "La Haula Wala Quuata illa billahil aliyul adheem" is such a great medicine that it cures every disease and the most minor disease it cu

Sincerity in Religious Acts

Karbala: The Everlasting Stand

Karbala: The Everlasting Stand Written by AhlulBayt Islamic Mission What you are about to read is a story of a great man whose uprising has no like in the annals of history. A revolution with goals most sublime, a victory most profound and at its core a pronouncement of reform over conquest. The story of Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Prophet of Islam, and his 'everlasting stand'. After years of unjust tyrannical rule, the exuberant torch of Islam had turned into a feint glimmer kept alight by a devoted few. The religion had become nothing more than a tool in the hands of despotic rulers who shared neither its supreme teachings nor elevating principles. Living in a social domain rife in corruption and favoritism, with the law and wealth in the hands of an elite, the Mus

A beautiful read

This is one of my favourite stories.... Her cheeks were worn and sunken, and her skin hugged her bones. That didn't stop her because you could never catch her not reciting Qur'an. She was always vigil in her personal prayer room that our father had set up for her. Bowing, prostrating, raising her hands in prayer, was the way she was from dawn to sunset and back again; boredom was for other people. As for me, I craved nothing more than fashion magazines and novels. I treated myself to videos until the trips to the rental place became my trademark. It's a saying that when something becomes habit, people tend to distinguish you by it. I was negligent in my responsibilities and my salah was characterized by laziness. One night, after a long three hours of watching, I turned the video off. The adhan rose softly in the quiet night. I slipped peacefully into my blanket. Her voice called me from her prayer room. "Yes? Would you like anything Noorah?" I

7 Common mistakes we usually make in prayers

7 Common mistakes usually we make in prayers Listed below are the 7 Common mistakes usually we make in prayers Mistake 1: Reciting Surat al-Fatiha fast without pausing after each verse. The Prophet (SAW) used to pause after each verse of this surah. (Abu Dawood) Mistake 2: Sticking the arms to the sides of the body, in rukoo' or sujood, and sticking the belly to the thighs in sujood. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Let not one of you support himself on his forearms (in sujood) like the dog. Let him rest on his palms and keep his elbows away from his body." (Sahih Muslim) . The Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to keep his arms away from his body during rukoo' and sujood that the whiteness of his armpits could be seen (Sahih Muslim). Mistake 3: Gazing upward during prayer.

The Historical Significance of ‘Ashura

Image
The Historical Significance of ‘Ashura Mu’awiyah ibn Abu Sufyan (Radiyallahu 'anh) relates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) say: "It is the day of ‘Ashura. Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) has not made fasting obligatory for you. But I am fasting. He who likes to observe fast among you should do so, and he who likes not to observe it (does not have to) observe it." [Sahih Muslim] Abu Qatada (Radiyallahu 'anh) relates that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam) said that the fast on the 10th of Muharram atones for the sins of the preceding year. [Sahih Muslim] Abu Huraira (Radiyallahu 'anh) reports that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam) said that after Ramadan, the fasts of Muharram have the greatest excellence. [Sahih Muslim] Alhamdulillah, Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) has blessed us to see another year. The first month of this year is Muharram. In this month is an excellent day—the day of ‘Ashura—wh

Women's Rights In Islam

Women's Rights In Islam The Conditions of Women in Arabia Before Islam In those days before Islam, women were treated like slaves or property. Their personal consent concerning anything related to their well-being was considered unimportant, to such a degree that they were never even treated as a party to a marriage contract. Women were used for one purpose, and then discarded. They had no independence, could own no property and were not allowed to inherit. In times of war, women were treated as part of the prize. Simply put, their condition was unspeakable. In addition, the birth of a daughter in a family was not an occasion for rejoicing, but was regarded with humiliation. The practice of killing female children was uncontrolled. With the advent of Islam came the
