Shield your Tongue if you wish to attain Paradise!

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah, Bismillaah, wal-hamdulilaah, was-salaatu was-salaamu 'alaa rasoolillaah, wa ba'd Shield your Tongue if you wish to attain Paradise! I said: O messenger of Allah, tell me an act which will take me into Paradise and will keep me away from the Hell-fire? On the authority of Mu'aadh ibn Jabal (radiyallaahu 'anhu) who said: I said: O messenger of Allah, tell me an act which will take me into Paradise and will keep me away from the Hell-fire. He said: You have ask me about a major matter, yet it is easy for him for whom Allah the Exalted makes it easy. You should worship Allah, associating nothing with Him; you should perform the prayers; you should pay the zakat, you should make the pilgrimage to the House. Then he said: Shall I not show you the gates of goodness? Fasting [which] is a shield; charity extinguis...

Who Created God?, Self-Liberation, Cracks in the Social Mirror.

Image
Who Created God? People with no inner spiritual life sometimes ask: If God created everything, who created God? The Prophet, peace be upon him, said that some people would ask this very question: " A day will certainly come when some people will sit with their legs crossed and ask: 'If God created everything, who created God?' " [Bukhari, I'tisam, 3] At best, the question is based on perceived "cause and effect" relationships. Everything can be thought of as an effect and attributed to a prior cause that, in turn, is attributed to a prior cause, and so on. However, we must remember that cause is only a hypothesis, for it has no objective existence. All that objectively exists is a particular sequence of circumstances that is often (but not always) repeated. If such a hypothesis is applied to existence, we cannot find a creator of the first cause, because each creator must have had a prior creator. The end result is a never-ending chain of creators...

A BEAUTIFUL REMINDER FOR ALL MY STRUGGLING SISTERS

Umme Salamah (Radiahallahu Anha) narrates that she said to the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) "O Rasûlullah, are the women of this world superior or the hûrs (of Paradise)?" He replied, "The women of this world will have superiority over the hûrs (houris) just as the outer lining of a garment has superiority over the inner lining "    Umme Salamah R.A then asked, "O Rasûlullah, what is the reason for this?" He answered, "Because they performed salâh, fasted, and worshipped [Allah]. Allah will put light on their faces and silk on their bodies. [The human women] will be fair in complexion and will wear green clothing and yellow jewelry. Their incense-burners will be made of pearls and their combs will be of gold. They will say, 'We are the women who will stay forever and we will never die. We are the women who will always remain in comfort and we will never undergo difficulty. We are the women who will stay and we wi...

A VERY GOOD STORY OF A CONVERTER TO ISLAM

> Are Young People Bored With Religion? A Greek Man Discovers Islam By Khalid Paschalis I was born in Greece, a country known for being one of the most 'homogenous' Christian countries. Almost 99% of Greek people are Orthodox Christians. My parents were both teachers of the Christian religion in schools, so I grew up in a Christian environment. When I was very young (before 12 years old) my mother always insisted to take me with her to the church every Sunday. My father didn't go there. When I reached puberty I didn't want to go to church. I didn't feel anything special there and I preferred sleeping or watching TV in Sunday mornings. In the subject of the religion education in school I was very bored and didn't pay attention to it. Most students didn't as well. Then I became 16 years old. It was the first time we were taught about the other religions at school. I discovered Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam of course. I noticed that the teacher was n...

Those Endowed With True Knowledge

Image
Al-Qasas (The Narration) Chapter 28: Verse 80 Those Endowed With True Knowledge said: "Woe to you. Allah's reward is best for those who believe and act righteously. But none except those who are patient shall attain to this." Korah, a contemporary of Moses, peace be upon him, was an extremely wealthy man. Wealth in itself is neither good nor bad. It is simply a means to an end and can be beneficially used or abused. But, as we see in this surah, Korah decided that he had earned his wealth by sheer genius and personal hard work alone, and that he was therefore justified in doing with it as he pleased. When those whose desires and inclinations were for the world saw his adornments and splendour, they wished that they could have the same as he had been given. This verse is the response of the people of beneficial knowledge. "Allah's reward", in this verse, means that clean and bounteous provision which comes to a man both in this world and in the Next a...

Interrogation

Interrogation Some Muslims today have gotten into the habit of interrogating their brothers and sisters about matters of faith and law. They ask them questions about the particulars of the Islam creed or some details of various legal ruling, but their intention is not to learn anything. They already know the answers. What they want to do is see if the person they are asking is on the right creed or has adopted the correct position in certain matters of Islamic Law â€" or have the correct "Islamic" attitude about certain issues. A classic example of this is to ask "Where is Allah." Yes, the Prophet (peace be upon him) did once ask a slave girl this question. However, the people who go around with this question on their lips, foisting it on every passer-by, forget that the Prophet...

When will I see you as a Haafidh? { A good eye opener for all of us .....}

When will I see you as a Haafidh? In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful Shaykh Yasir Salamah I recently heard an incredibly amazing account told by Shaykh Yasir Salamah, one of the leading Imams and recitors of Egypt. In his audio tape 'When will I see you as a Haafidh?' he speaks of the true account of Muhammad, a brother who after attending a workshop on memorising Qur'aan and utilising all the available mediums, went on to memorise the entire Qur'aan within just 50 days (i.e 2 months) Within 2 months?! Yes. Within 2 months. This is his account and he says: "I declared a state of Jihad upon my soul and put death before my eyes. I made an intention to memorise the Noble Qur'aan. So I abandoned telephone calls and unnecessary visits, and I changed all the negative thoughts associated with hifdh (memorisation) to positive and practical ones e.g. When a thought came to me saying 'I can't do it!' I'd say, 'I ...

Rewards

Once Prophet MUHAMMAD (SWS) said, "If the people knew the reward for the Dhuhur prayer in its early time, they would race for it. If they knew the reward for "Isha" and the " Fajr" prayers in congregation, they would join them even if they had to crawl. If they knew the reward for the first row, they would draw lots for it". (Sahih AL-Bukhari vol. 1: no.688) Please keep forwarding this Hadith to all...because The Prophet MUHAMMAD Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam ) said: "pass on knowledge from me, even if it is only one verse". Three important and beneficial things, Hazrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) says that "if a person recite: 1. "Ayatal Kursi" after every Fardh Namaz (Salaah) then there will be nothing between him and Heaven except Death" 2) There is a Hadith that says "La Haula Wala Quuata illa billahil aliyul adheem" is such a great medicine that it cures every disease and the most minor disease it cu...

A Beautiful Hadith

Image
A Beautiful Hadith Assalam Aleikum, Rasulullah (Sallalloho alaihe Wa-aalay wasallam) said: "When a man dies and his relatives are busy in funeral, there stands an extremely handsome man by his head. When the dead body is shrouded, that man gets in between the shroud and the chest of the deceased. When after the burial, the people return home, 2 angels, Munkar and Nakeer (names of two special Angels), come in the grave and try to separate this handsome man so that they may be able to interrogate the dead man in privacy about his faith. But the handsome man says, "He is my companion, he is my friend. I will not leave him alone in any case. If you are appointed for interrogation, do your job. I cannot leave him until I get him admitted into Paradise". Thereafter he turns to his dead companion and says, "I am the Qura...

Sahih Bukhari Hadith 1. 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord' Hadith 8.318 Narrated by Shaddad bin Aus The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said "The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is: 'Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, Anta Khalaqtani wa ana abduka, wa ana 'ala ahdika wa wa'dika mastata'tu, A'udhu bika min Sharri ma sana'tu, abu'u Laka bini'matika 'alaiya, wa Abu Laka bidhanbi faghfirli innahu la yaghfiru adhdhunuba illa anta.' " The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) added.
