Interrogation

Interrogation Some Muslims today have gotten into the habit of interrogating their brothers and sisters about matters of faith and law. They ask them questions about the particulars of the Islam creed or some details of various legal ruling, but their intention is not to learn anything. They already know the answers. What they want to do is see if the person they are asking is on the right creed or has adopted the correct position in certain matters of Islamic Law รข€" or have the correct "Islamic" attitude about certain issues. A classic example of this is to ask "Where is Allah." Yes, the Prophet (peace be upon him) did once ask a slave girl this question. However, the people who go around with this question on their lips, foisting it on every passer-by, forget that the Prophet...

When will I see you as a Haafidh? { A good eye opener for all of us .....}

When will I see you as a Haafidh? In the Name of Allรขh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful Shaykh Yasir Salamah I recently heard an incredibly amazing account told by Shaykh Yasir Salamah, one of the leading Imams and recitors of Egypt. In his audio tape 'When will I see you as a Haafidh?' he speaks of the true account of Muhammad, a brother who after attending a workshop on memorising Qur'aan and utilising all the available mediums, went on to memorise the entire Qur'aan within just 50 days (i.e 2 months) Within 2 months?! Yes. Within 2 months. This is his account and he says: "I declared a state of Jihad upon my soul and put death before my eyes. I made an intention to memorise the Noble Qur'aan. So I abandoned telephone calls and unnecessary visits, and I changed all the negative thoughts associated with hifdh (memorisation) to positive and practical ones e.g. When a thought came to me saying 'I can't do it!' I'd say, 'I ...

Best 3 hours in Ramadan

Image
Best 3 hours in Ramadan. Brothers & Sisters seek it and benefit from it The first Hour: The first hour of the day-After Salat Al-fajr Imama Nawawi -may Allah has mercy on him- said in his book of remembrance: "Know that the most honorable times for remembrance in the day is after Fajr prayer" Termithi reported on the authority of Anas (RAA) on the Prophet (PBUH) that he said: "Who ever prayed Fajr in congregation & sit remembering Allah until the sun rises then he prays 2 rakat, he will get the reward of hajj & Omra complete, complete, complete" Narrated by Termithi and said it is a sound hadith. The Prophet (PBUH) when he prayed Fajr, he would sit in his place until the sunrises. Scholars encouraged us to seek this hour and to spend it in the remembrance of Allah until the sun rises. Another Hadith "O, Allah bless my nation with the early hours of the day" That is why it is disliked to sleep after morning prayer because it is an hour where Al...

Levels of Fasting

Image
There are as many levels of fasting as there are facets to being human. Proper fasting should encompass all dimensions of human existence for it to have the divinely intended effect. The following are some of the major levels of fasting: The Ritual Level: This level of fasting requires that the basic rules for fasting be fulfilled, which are avoiding food, drink and sexual intercourse between dawn and sunset for 29 or 30 days each year. On this level, one is basically following the letter of the laws regarding fasting without particular consideration for the spirit of fasting. It is the entrance level which must be fulfilled for the fast to be Islamically correct, but the other levels must be added for the fast to have any real impact on the fasting person. Fasting on this level alone will not benefit one spiritually, except from the perspective of submission to divine instructions, if one chooses to follow the ritual consciously and not merely according to tradition. Thus, by itself,...

And Allah is Most Ready to appreciate and to reward, Most Forbearing." [Al-Quran 64:17] "Who is he that will lend to Allah a goodly loan, then (Allah) will increase it manifold to his credit (in repaying), and he will have (besides) a good reward ( i.e. Paradise )." [Al-Quran 57:11] "Verily, those who give Sadaqat ( i.e. Zakat and alms, etc.), men and women, and lend to Allah a goodly loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and theirs shall be an honorable good reward (i.e. Paradise )."
