Wives of Jannah

Amazing reminder for all mothers out there (but even if you don't have kids, many of these apply!) with lots of encouragement for Ramadan from my dear sister Ho sai Mojaddidi 's personal page. Read on... Please don't let the faint whispers of shaitan bring you down this Ramadan. 1. We may not make it to every Taraweh prayer (or even one) but God hears our prayers no matter what room we pray in, how many people we're standing among, and who is reciting the Qur'an. 2. We may not fast all 30 days (or even one) but He is the one who has given us the excuse in the first place. He knows our bodies make demands of us that are difficult and taxing, which is why He is pleased with us even when we eat and drink while others do not; indeed He wishes for us ease, not difficulty. 3. We may not be able to make it to all the iftaars and wonderful masjid gatherings to see our friends and share in the festivities but when we establish circles of remembran...

Who Created God?, Self-Liberation, Cracks in the Social Mirror.

Image
Who Created God? People with no inner spiritual life sometimes ask: If God created everything, who created God? The Prophet, peace be upon him, said that some people would ask this very question: " A day will certainly come when some people will sit with their legs crossed and ask: 'If God created everything, who created God?' " [Bukhari, I'tisam, 3] At best, the question is based on perceived "cause and effect" relationships. Everything can be thought of as an effect and attributed to a prior cause that, in turn, is attributed to a prior cause, and so on. However, we must remember that cause is only a hypothesis, for it has no objective existence. All that objectively exists is a particular sequence of circumstances that is often (but not always) repeated. If such a hypothesis is applied to existence, we cannot find a creator of the first cause, because each creator must have had a prior creator. The end result is a never-ending chain of creators...

The Condition of People at the Time of Their Death

[Derived from Tafsir Ibn Kathir - Chapter No - 56 of Surat Al-Waqi` ah - last few verses] These are the three types of conditions that people face upon their death. Either they are among the near believers or those below their rank on the right , or those who denied the truth, were led astray from the guidance and were ignorant about Allah. Allah said, (Then if he), in reference to the dying person, (be of the Muqarrabun) who fulfilled the obligations and the recommended acts of worship and avoided the forbidden and disliked matters and even some of the allowed, (then for him Rawh, Rayhan and a Garden of Delights. ) Theirs will be Rawh and Rayhan; and the glad tidings of these traits will be conveyed to them by the angels at the time of death. We mentioned before the Prophet 's Hadith narrated f rom Al-Bara' in which the angels of mercy say (to a dying, believing person), (O good soul in the good body that you inhabited, come to Rawh, Rayhan and a Lord Who is not a...

Do you hate someone?

Do you hate someone? Do you hate someone? Do you really hate someone? You haven't spoken to him for a while? You've been blaming him? You're not the only one; the Muslim Ummah today is diseased with this to the extent that almost every Muslim knows another Muslim who he hates. The Ummah is like a building with the Muslims as it's bricks, brotherhood is the cement. Without forgiveness you cannot have brotherhood. OK then, he wronged you. He deceived you. He backbited you. He lied to you. But even in these extreme situations the Qur'an and the Hadith teach us that we have to forgive others (especially those who hurt us the most) if we wish to earn the forgiveness of Allah on the day of judgement. We have all committed many sins, made many mistakes and no doubt we have wronged others, we have deceived others, we have backbited others and no doubt we have lied to others. So what makes us focus onto brothers' and sisters' err...

The Location of Paradise

Image
Assalamu Alaikuna The Location of Paradise Question : If the width of Paradise is the width of the heavens and earth. then where is it in the creation, which is filled by the heavens and the earth? Answer: Before answering this question, we must preface it by saying whatever is in the Book of Allah and what has been authentically reported from the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe was salaam is the truth and it is not possible that it contradicts the existent reality, for the existent tangible reality is true and it is impossible to doubt it. What is confirmed by the Quran and sunnah is ( also ) the truth, which is not possible to doubt, nor is it possible for two truths to contradict each other in a way that make it impossible to reconcile them both. It is confirmed by the Quran that the breadth of Paradise is as the breadth of the heaven and the earth; and in another verse : عَرْضُهَا السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالأَرْضُ "...as wide as the heavens and the earth ." [ Aal Imran 3:133...
