Prophet Muhammad (SAW) & Khadijah (RA) : The Greatest Of All Love Stories

She was one of the noblest women around, coming from a very prominent family. She was also quite beautiful and the holder of a considerable amount of wealth, being a prominent businesswoman. To marry her would have been a great feat for any man, and indeed, quite a few of the most prominent and wealthy men in society had asked for her hand. Yet, she rejected them all; already being a widow, she had lost the desire to marry again. Until he came into her life. He was young man of 25, and although he was also of a very noble family, he was an orphan and was not a man of many means. He had made a meager living tending sheep in the hills surrounding the city. Yet, he had an impeccable moral character, and he was widely known as one of the most honest men around. That is what attracted her to him: she was looking for someone honest who could conduct business for her, as she – a woman in a fiercely patriarchal society – could not do it herself. So, he started working for her. After he came ...

Women wearing perfume and makeup

Some women going out wearing perfume and makeup, and without veils. This is a problem which is widespread, and many people take this matter lightly. Allaah is the One Whose help we seek. Some women – may Allaah guide them – even dress up in their finest clothes and put on the best perfume when they go to the mosque to pray Taraaweeh or go to the Eid prayers, etc. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Any woman who puts on perfume and passes by people so that they can smell her fragrance, is an adulteress.” Narrated by al-Nasaa’i, 5126; al-Tirmidhi, 2783; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 2019.

SEEKING FORGIVENESS

·         Rabb-ighfir li , wa tubb `alayya, innaka Antat-Tawwabur-Rahim. (My Rubb! Forgive me and pardon me. Indeed, you are the Oft-Returning with compassion and Ever Merciful). (100) ·         `Astaghfir ullah-alladhi la ilaha illa Huwal-Haiyul-Qayyumu, wa atubu ilaihi (I seek the forgiveness of Allah, there is no true god except Allah, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting, and I turn to Him in repentance),' ·         Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi; Astaghfirullaha wa atubu ilaihi (Allah is free from imperfection, and I begin with praising Him. I beg forgiveness from Allah and I turn to Him in repentance.'' The supplication most often recited by the Prophet (PBUH) was: "Allahumma atina fid-dunya hasanatan, wa fil-akhirati hasanatan, wa qina `adhab-annar (O our Rubb! give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the pu...

Living to Die or Dying to Live!

Living to Die or Dying to Live! A reminder concerning the harsh and fearful reality of death. You know Allaah; yet you do not obey Him. You recite the Qur`aan; yet you do not act according to it. You know Shaytaan; yet you continue agreeing with him. Shaykh ’Alee Hasan al-Halabee said: "Death is a harsh and fearful reality, faced by everyone who lives. No one has the power to avoid it, nor does anyone around the dying person have the ability to prevent it. It is something that happens every moment and it is something encountered by the young and the old, the rich and the poor, the strong and the weak. They are all the same in that they have no plan, or any means of escaping it, no means of intercession, no way to prevent it or to delay it." [1] Allaah the Exalted says: "Say: Indeed, the death from which you flee will surely meet you, then you will be sent back to Allaah, the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen. And He will then tell you what...

Q: What is the Du`a' (supplication) that I can recite in order to be answered? A: The times when Du`a' is answered are numerous and they all are mentioned in the Sunnah as follows: 1- The time between Adhan (call to Prayer) and Iqamah (call to start the Prayer). The Messenger (peace be upon him) said: ( Part No : 26, Page No:121) The supplication made between the Adhan and the Iqamah is not rejected. 2- The middle of the night and the last portion. There is an hour during the night in which any Du`a' will be answered, especially, in the middle or the last portion of the night. It was authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: Our Lord descends every night to the lower heavens when the last third portion of the night begins. He announces: Is there any supplicant that I might answer him? Is there any seeker of My...
